314 or Pro 4 Max memory?
Thinking of buying a ReadyNAS 314, or a Pro 4. Spec sheets says 2Gb RAM (314) and 256Mb (Pro 4) installed from factory. Any ideas as to maximums possible? (Understanding usual Netgear disclaimers ...
It won't hurt performance, but you could end up denied netgear support.

If you do go forward, you should save the existing memory in case you need to reinstall it.
I agree with mdgm's analysis, I don't see any chance of significant performance gain here. If you were running more apps, then it might be different.
