a 3rd architecture? seriously?

I mean really, why? is it not confusing enough with 2+ sparc models and 9 x86 desktop models, that a 3rd architecture, which I am assuming will be requiring different addons and radiators releases...

Sure, but it's cheap to build, and (as evidenced here) they DON'T support it anymore so aren't spending anything there either.
Duo and NV+ v1 are still supported. They recently received a firmware update 4.1.8... There's also still plenty of help available on the forum.
I have used both "official" support which didn't help me, and tried to get advice here about my drive spinup problems to no responses at all. That's what I was referring to when I said "they DON'T support it anymore".

I can understand that there is burnout with "the old stuff", but some of us have become disenchanted with Netgear.
