Admin Page unresponsive if SMTP server offline

My RN104 Admin page was unresponsive for extended periods.

After some investigation, I discovered that the SMTP service was throwing errors.

The server I used for email Alerts had changed IP. After adding the old IP to the server, the system became responsive again.

 

I have now disabled email Alerts, and the system is no longer having issues.

 

It would appear that if the Email Server configured for system Alerts is unavailable, the Admin Page becomes unresponsive.
