Antivirus scanner found a threat ( Multios.Coinminer.Miner-6781728-2) model : 4MD572EK00059

Antivirus scanner found a threat ( Multios.Coinminer.Miner-6781728-2) in the file /root/.bashtemp/a/cron. Please delete the infected file soon.

unable to delete or enter into root folder.

    You'll need to enable ssh and use the linux command line to access the folder (logging in as root using the NAS admin password).

     

    .bashtemp shouldn't be there at all, so you could enter

    # cd //
    # rm -rf .bashtemp

    Though the bigger question is how that infection got there. 

    • Do you have ports forwarded to the NAS (or is the NAS in the DMZ of your router)?
    • Have you installed any webserver plugins?  For instance Wordpress Framework?
