Can I migrate disks (4 x 3G X-RAID2 configured) from NV+ V2 to 104 or 214

  • I have an 4 year old ReadyNAS NV+ V2, with 4 3TB drives in XRaid2 config
  • model version:ReadyNAS NV+ v2
  • firmware: RAIDiator 5.3.11
  • OS
  • Model:ReadyNAS NV+ v2
     Serial:2V021CE60014D
     Firmware:RAIDiator 5.3.11
     Memory:256 MB
  • RAID Type:

    X-RAID2

  • Disks are all in working condition; array is intact
  • The unit shutdown intermittently
  • I am considering purchase a new unit like 104 or 214
  1. Can I simply take disks out, put them in new unit, and power on?
  2. Any other options?

Thanks

No.  There is a knowledge base article on that here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29876

If you can afford new disks, then NAS->NAS backup jobs are a good way to migrate data.  Then you could try a factory reset on the V2, and see if its stability improves.  If it does, you can use it as a backup for the OS6 NAS.
