Cannot connect ReadyNAS NV+ v2 to Windows or RAIDar (IP fixed at 192.168.168.168)

Actually RAIDar should be able to detect it, even if the IP address is not on your router's subnet.

These will work:
- PC IP address: 192.168.168.100
- PC Subnet: 255.255.255.0
- PC gateway: 192.168.168.168
Access frontview by IP address (https://192.168.168.168/admin) You can also ping it (open CMD and enter ping 192.168.168.168 ).

BTW - are you certain you have the v2? It runs 5.3.x firmware (the original NV+ runs 4.1.x). I'm asking because you refer to the Web UI as "frontview". The NV+ v2 calls it "dashboard".

Me too. But it is possible that the NIC failed. Unfortunately it is not repairable.
Have you checked the ethernet LEDs - both on the NAS and also on the other end of the connection (router, switch, or PC)?
So I setup a static IP address with the parameters you provided and it did not work. I was not able to ping the ReadyNas with the 192.168.168.168 address. The back of the ReadyNas shows a green light but the back of my PC shows an amber light (sometimes blinking). I tried it on two different PC's with the same result. At this point I think the ReadyNAS NIC is bad as you had mentioned. I assume the USB connections are not for data transfer.
Which leads to to the question: is there a way to copy or transfer the files in the ReadyNas to another storage device. The ReadyNAS was attached to media server I have on my home network and was used to stream video and audio files. The display does indicated the storage capacity and how much I have free which tells me that perhaps the files are still intact. I set it up as a RAID 5.
And yes it was running FW 5.3 and it was the dashboard instead of frontview.
Appreciate any advice you may have.

Though I think it's a long shot, it's worth trying a different ethernet cable.

While you can't connect the USB ports to a PC, they can be used with USB hard drives. But the challenge then becomes how to tell the NAS to copy the data without a network connection. The backup button on the NAS won't help unless you've already set it up to do backups when you press the button.
Other methods include
- purchasing a used NV+ v2, and migrating your disks to it.
- getting usb docks/enclosures to allow you to connect the NAS disks to a PC.
With the second approach, you can mount the RAID array directly if the PC runs linux.
If it runs Windows, you can alternatively use RAID recovery software. This would work: https://www.r-studio.com/ (you'd need the $79 version). Not sure if the Mac version of that software will work or not. With RAID recovery software, you'd need to offload the data.
Thanks for your help. I am going to try and do the RAID recovery method. I guess all I need is 4 of those USB 3.5 HD SATA adapters and enough room on my PC hd or on my external hd's to copy the files over.
Hate to see that my ReadyNAS has hit the end of road. But I guess I can use it as an excuse to upgrade to something better.
