Cannot read file due to (error: Permission denied)! - long file length

Hi NAS TEAM,

 

I am using NAS box as my file backup server . frequently i am getting error for specific user ie(Cannot read file ' name more that 260 charectors') (error: Permission denied)! .

 

 

is there any option to accept more than 260 charectors in NAS.

    This is a Windows limitation, not a NAS problem.  

     

    You can try mapping the folder to drive letter on the PC - that will shorten the path.  But longer term, you need a strategy to shorten the paths.  Often that requires flattening the folder structure to one that isn't as deep.

      Or as long-winded.  While it's handy to give files and folders a highly descriptive name, it can create this kind of problem.
