Cannot save or edit in readynas 316

Hi,

I have a ready nas 316 model, firmware 6.10.1. From few days i cannot save or edit files in the nas drive. If i try to edit or save in the nas drive its giving me an error saying

"Microsoft Excel - The file format and extension of ****.xls don't match. The file could be corrupted or unsafe. Unless you trust its source don't open it. Do you want to open it anyway."

"Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open '******.pdf' because it is
either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example,
it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

"Microsoft Word - We're sorry. We cant open ****.docx because we found a problem with its contents.' 

Please help.

      Hi StephenB ,

       

      Thanks for the reply. 

      Yup it is enabled. So i will disable the "strict sync" option and check whether i can make changes to the drive files.

        Just for clarity, this happens only when you access directly via Excel, Word, etc.  You can drag and drop a file to or from  the NAS without any issues?

         

        It would be helpful to know if the problem also occurs when you copy the file from the NAS to the PC desktop and then open it.
