Sorry to be a numpty but how do I attach the file to the PM?
Upload the zip file to cloud storage (dropbox, google drive, onedrive, etc), and get a shared link to the zip file. Then include that link in the text of your PM.
Spanfan wrote:I don't know if this is relevant or just the normal status but I've just noticed that under Volumes mine is marked as Read Only
That is very relevant, and explains why you can't write anything to the volume. Likely you will have to destroy and recreate the volume (recreating the shares and restoring the data).
But one of the causes for this is disk problems. If that's happened here, then you will want to replace the disks with issues - otherwise the volume will go read-only again, or become completely dead. The mods should be able to sort that out for you.

Thanks, message now sent with link to log file
It's looking as if I might have to start from scratch.

Hi Spanfan,
It looks like volume is in read-only mode because it detected file system corruption which is why you cannot delete the shared folders. I saw a lot of these error messages on your logs.
Jun 05 09:18:00 HebronNAS kernel: BTRFS error (device md127): parent transid verify failed on 655753216 wanted 1476587 found 1476582
You need to contact NETGEAR support so they can check if they can still do something about this via backend access or if data recovery is needed.
You can also backup your data, reset the NAS to factory default then restore from backup.

Hi John,
Thanks for taking the time to look at the logs. I guess the simplest way forward is to copy off as much as possible then do the reset and start from scratch. At least I'll know then that the system is clean.
Would the Kupidon infection have caused the file system corruption as it seems more than coincidence that both things happened this week?
Thanks again for the help and advice.
