Change ReadyNAS Ultra 4 to ReadyNAS 210
I've got an Ultra 4 today but thinking about changing it to a newer model. Can I just move my disks from the Ultra 4 to a 210 (RN214)? I need a version that can stream to Plex on PS3/PS4/mobile phone/tablet (both on 4G and WiFi).
RN214 is brand new (released a few weeks ago).
I'd compare pricing with the RN314 and RN316 first. If the gap is small, maybe go with an RN300 series. One reason: lifetime chat support comes with the RN300 and above.
OS6 can use transmission for torrents (though I don't, so I have no recommendations on that).

No, you can't. I suggest new disks for the new NAS, and using the ultra-4 for backup.

If you start with new drives, you create back up jobs (via the admin web ui) to move the data over the network (NAS to NAS).
It's not difficult.

of course u can move the drives physically
214 will be using os6 with btrfs file format. this will involve a fresh formatting so all in the moved drives will be lost.
