Connect 2 ReadyNAS 104 via USB for data transfer

Are you using a ReadyNAS backup job? That won't tie up a PC, and usually is faster than copying from a PC.
The RN104s are slow, though they can reach ~70 MB/s for large file transfers.

Didn't know about the backup Job option...thanks for that.
Figured that Windows being the middle man would slow things down.
I'm halfway through copy so will wait the extra day... :oP

There are a couple of different protocols you can use (including SMB). Rsync is slower for full backups, but generally fastest for increment. So if this is something you want to run periodically, you could switch to rsync after the initial copy. You can also set up a schedule.

Tried the built in backup but still slow...transfering ~5TB between the readyNAS 104s and been over 2 days and getting close to completion. Transfer speeds are consistant at ~20mbps.
