Convert default data volume to encryption or how to recreate the home share if data recreated
Hi!
Is it possible to convert the data volume after a factory wipe to being encrypted?
If you cannot and therfor must delete and recreate, how do you recreate the Home share as recreated on a fresh install? I am not looking for an approximate solution, but the "this is exactly what would have been created by the installer". The home directory option seems to be gone, so I don't see a path to recreating it. My readynas is on the latest release.
Thanks!
Each user home folder should be recreated when you access the NAS using SMB/CIFS from a PC with NAS user account credentials.
Home itself should exist, and should be visible on the web ui "share" page.
I don't use disk encryption, so I don't have an exact procedure - other than what Netgear provides here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23131/~/how-do-i-create-a-volume-on-my-readynas-os-6-storage-system%3F?cid=wmt_netgear_organic

Thank you!
It turns out that by just creating an account everything worked. To force the creation of the home directory I went back in after creating the user and selected to create an SSH key.
