Could not install any application

Hi all!

I have Readynas 10400 with 6.10.4 system, with 3 HDD (one 2TB and two 4TB). At first sight all is OK - I have full acces to shares, I can upload and download files etc.

Yesterday my colleague adivsed me to install plex server on my NAS, I've read something about this package and finally decided to test them.

The fist issue was, that on my applications page there is quite nothing to show:

I've downloaded logs and I've found in readynas.log a very suprised information:

After that I've logged to readyNAD by ssh and when I've entered a df command result is as below:

As I understand, the issue is because there is no availiable space on /dev/md0/

The question is: how can I make more avaliable space on that volume? Will it fix issues with application installation? As it is written in in readynas.log - this is not a normal situation and I would like to have my ReadyNAS working still fine.

Thanks in advance everyone for any help.

Regards,

Tony.

  • I think the problem is with the loganalyzer app - which (if I recall correctly) is using space on the OS partition.

If you don't have a backup of your files, I would definitely take care of that first.  A full OS partition can damage the NAS configuration files - though paid support can fix that, it'd be better to avoid the cost.

Then try uninstalling loganalyzer.  There might be some more cleanup needed after that.

What other apps do you have installed?

BTW, you should be getting plex directly from plex.tv/downloads, and not from available apps.

Dear StephenB thank you for interesting.

I think, there is possible that it is LogAnalyzer - but I have no possibility to unistall them by web interface. When I try to do it I am getting an information "There is no possible to uninstall the LogAnalyzer Application"

Is it maybe possible to do it by ssh?

I know, that this in not an easy operation and I have to be very, very carefull, but I need some more futher instuction. I do not want to brick my ReadyNas.

      Regards,

      Tony.

Certainly it could be done with ssh - but it's not an app I've every used, and I don't know how to manually uninstall it.  Someone else here who has done it might chime in.

One safe way is to back up the NAS, do a fresh factory install, rebuild the NAS, and restore the files from backup.
