Cyperpower UPS script for ReadyNAS Duo

I recently bought a UPS system for my SOHO setup. I picked the Cyberpower 1500 PSW because it could shut down NAS attached to my network.
They show it is able to do, and even provide a example of how to get done.
Small problem is that it doesn't work, and they say the scrip has only been tested on two NAS and mine is not one of them.
If anybody has had this issue and has overcome it I would appreciate some guidance.
My DOS knowledge is limited at best. I am also using Cyberpower's Personal Edition Power Panel for th interface, running on Window 7 Professional.
thanks

  • All you have to do is connect the USB cable from the cyberpower to the duo. No need for DOS knowledge or for the cyberpower software.
  • I'll expand on my situation.
The DATA link from the UPS is attached to my WIN 7 PC, the UPS manual says that the software should send a script to the NAS when it is set to place the PC in the hibernate state.

The software that is in their example does not work with the ReadyNAS Duo.

I did find a script that works from a CMD prompt .
    http://codeblog.shawson.co.uk/netgear-readynas-duo-command-line-shut-down-utility/

The script work with no problems, hit enter and within 2 minutes the NAS powers off with no intervention required by the user. Checking the logs afterwards show a good shutdown was performed.

Trying to use this script in place of the UPS software also does not work.

When I went looking for why this might be happening I found the following, which indicates that where you are told to place the script is incorrect, but idea of where else it should be inserted.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberPower PowerPanel Personal Edition>shutdownNASBox -h
    PAPASNAS -u admin -p xxxxxxxxxxxxx
'shutdownNASBox' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

I think I have now covered everything that I have found so far.
