Because there are 2 versions of the Duo - The Original Duo and the Duo v2.
You apparently have bought the original Duo (irrespective of any labels that you might have) which doesn't support drives >2TB, whereas the Duo v2 does support >2TB drives and therefore you must be looking at the wrong information on the HCL
