Drive recognition problem

I am new to both the i Mac and Netgear as I have just moved over from the PC platform.

The problem i have is that my drives in my Netgear are not being recognised by the Mac. I have been able to access these drives previously but for some strange reason they have disappeared from both my desktop and also from Devices in finder. Can anyone give me any information on how i can get the mac to locate these drives again.

I am running the Mac on Lion platform and my net gear is a ReadyNAS Duo 2v.

  • Assuming you have powered-on your ReadyNAS and launched RAIDar on your desktop....

...double-click your hard-drive icon. In the window that appears, whatever you have named your ReadyNAS will show in the left-hand column.

The name will end with either, AFP or CIPS or both.

Choose the AFP option. The right-hand side of the window will show 'connecting'.

You will then see either 'media' or 'backup.

Alternatively, in RAIDar, choose setup, and once you have logged onto Dashboard, do your drives show up there?
