Eaton 5S1600AU UPS & NV+
Hi All,
Hoping someone can help here, I've just about exhausted myself trying to find an answer.
I have an old ReadyNAS NV+ (RAIDiator 4.1.15) that I'm trying to source a UPS for.
I've read just about every thread here I could find, as well as everything google could give me, I'm well aware of the existing NV+ HCL and believe me I tried to find one of those UPS however that list is pretty old and I couldn't source one.
After checking http://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html I found a local place selling something I found there, as above the Eaton 5S (AU as I'm in Australia). Got it home, unboxed it, hooked it up and it worked! The NV recognized it in the health tab, read the model and battery runtime no problem for all of 5 minutes before I started getting repeated UPS disconnected alerts :(

Is this telling me it's not compatible? Is there anything I can do to make this work? I feel my options are pretty slim :( any recommendations?
Thanks,
Ed.

The NV+ is a very old NAS, with very old hardware and runs an old version of NUT. It's not compatible with as many UPS units as newer ReadyNAS models.
ReadyNAS OS 6.6.0 (which runs on our current models) includes the latest stable version of NUT.

Yup well aware this is an old NAS, but it does everything I need it to do, if a bit on the slow side, I've had it for a very long time :) and I've got a soft spot for it...
I hear what you're saying though, and I'm well aware its EOL etc etc. I'm guessing what you're trying to tell me is another UPS isn't the solution here?
I had a thought that maybe it was time to get a 312 to run alongside the old NV+, I know this would be an expensive solution to a somewhat trivial problem, however connect the 5S UPS to the 312 and run network monitoring (monitoring of UPS physically attached to a remote ReadyNAS) via the 312 to the NV+... would that work?
