Eaton Ellipse ECO 1600

Hi,

I have bought an UPS Eaton Ellipse ECO 1600 and connected on my ReadyNAS 312.

The UPS is found by my NAS, but I can't manage it or see detail infos about the UPS (i.e. power status).

Do I need ton install an add-on or an app on my ReadyNas?

I have the FW 6.5 RC2

Thanks

  • Did you look on the performance tab?

You should see the est. running time and battery charge there (not intuitive I agree).

      Correct, you are right!

I think this feature should more improve in the next FW.

This night at 11:00pm, I had a power cut in my city, I have received a message from ReadyNAS to warn me about the UPC switching in mode battery, then a notice for shuting because the battery was low after 1 hour.

At 2:30am, the power was back...but the ReadyNas still powered off...For me, the ReadyNas should have returned to the previous power state, isn't it?

The NAS did a clean shutdown, so it doesn't automatically start up when power is re-applied.

Changing this behavior would require changing bios settings.

  • Just do it! :-)

As I'm on holiday, or as I'm at offi 3, I can't push on the button to power on the NAS if I'm out of my home...how can I access to my ReadyCloud again without a physical presence? I'm this power back option should be present on Readynas.

I don't work for Netgear, so it's not on me.

I would like to see more options here too.  It might already be in the idea exchange - if so, you could vote for it.

If you have full access to the remote site, then Wake-on-LAN might be an option.  Some folks have asked for assymetric power schedules (powering down the NAS w/o a corresponding scheduled power-up, and vice versa).  That's another possible fail-safe.
