encryption key file

what is the filename format for of an encryption key downloaded from a readynas?

No idea on the format, but the file name is volumename.key (where volumename is a placeholder for the actual name of the encrypted volume)

  I'm convinced I downloaded I just can't find it does it have a file extension?

    As I said above, the file has a .key extension.
