Feature Request (folder level permission)
Hi!
I recently purchased a Readynas Duo V2.
I haven't "played" with it for long but so far I really miss one feature! I would really like to set permissions on a folder level, NOT just the share root.
Example on how i want to configure my shares:
*I have two shares named "Financial" and "Pictures". Booth sharefolders have three subfolders named user_A, user_B and user_C.
*I have 3 users A,B,C and me (admin).
*I want user A,B and C to be able to see "Financial" and "Pictures" but ONLY see their "own" subfolders.
*They should ONLY have read rights in their "own" subfolder under financial, but read & write in their "own" folder under "Pictures"
*I, as admin should have read and write rights to everything.
More graphic example:
*Financial
-user_A -- Only user A can see this folder \
-user_B -- Only user B can see this folder-- I should have full access to these.
-user_C -- Only user C can see this folder /
*Pictures
-user_A -- Only user A can see this folder and write to it \
-user_B -- Only user B can see this folder and write to it -- I should have full access to these.
-user_C -- Only user C can see this folder and write to it /
I would REALLY appreciate this feature! Seems like loads of people other than me wants it too.
Perhaps you could do this already via SSH but when i get home (I work with IT for a living) i just want it to work :P
If i have placed this under the wrong section i apologize, please move it to the right place!
EDIT:
I have discovered another "issue". If i enter a IP adress (seems like this feat was named "hosts allowed" in the previous interface, now it just says "IP" and its located under user rights in the shares tab) it only works if i choose "everyone".
Ex, I enter an ip-adress that doesn't match my computer (just to see that i DONT have access) it all work like it should IF i choose "everyone" and read/write. If i chose any other user I can access the share although I'm connecting from another IP (whitin the LAN).
Can anyone confirm this? Im running FW 5.3.7.
Best Regards
Nova
