File Owner somehow changed to “root (Unix User\root)”– Files now just READ ONLY via Windows
Sometime over the past 2 weeks, almost all of the files (50K+ photo files) in one subfolder of one share on my ReadyNAS 214 have become READ ONLY. These files are located in a hierarchy of subfolders...

In the admin page GUI, on the Shares menu, use the wheel icon for the share to access the Settings window. On the File Access tab, make sure the desired owner and group and other selections are set. Then select Reset on the left, and then the Reset permissions button.
It may take a while to complete if there are a lot of files.
