GS116E ?
I am upgrading my home network and will be also buying a NAS soon. I am thinking of the readyNAS Pro 6 (or equiv) even though it is a home use. I want to stream videos and photos and also allow backup.
Now I am thinking of replacing my current switch with a Smart Switch so that I can manage the Network traffic.
I actually purchased a GS108T however, then determined it did not have enough ports so I need a 16 port switch.
I was looking at the GS116E however red somewhere that it was limited to 1.5Mbs (even though it is a 1GB switch?).
I also see the GS716T-200 however, this has a fan and I would like a fanless for noise since it will be going on my desktop.
Does the GS116E support the readyNAS Pro series?
Any recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

I don't know what you read, but the GS116E is a non-blocking switch that supports 2 gb/s for each port (1 gb/s in each direction). It should work find with the ReadyNAS.stevem9 wrote: was looking at the GS116E however red somewhere that it was limited to 1.5Mbs (even though it is a 1GB switch?).
