HELP with Ready nas NV+

Hi everyone, I' a newbie to the Netgear NAS scene and I recently got 2 Ready Nas units to replace my Dlink DNS323.

The two units I got are 4 bays RND4000 V3 & RND4210 V3. Now the issue i'm having is when i plug them in both screens says

"Booting... ERR:no disks" am i not able to get to the admin screen without and hdd? I thought I'd be able to still use the admin screen without hdd? The unit do give me a ip addrsss but everytime i try to goto the address i get a page cannot be displayed?

The systems need disks to work (the OS, etc are installed to the disks).

      Hi erhan75,

As a follow-up, you may check the Hard Disk Compatibility List that you may want to use for both of your ReadyNAS NV+ (RND4000) here.

In particular, disks > 2 TB in size are not compatible with your NAS. If you are looking for new disks, then I suggest the WD20EFRX or the ST2000VN000

The disk HCL that DaneA points to is very old, and personally I think you are better off ignoring it and getting a NAS-purposed disk.
