How to create a user with admin rights to a share

If you make the user the owner of the share and of course ensure that the owner has full rights, that should do it.
What issues are you facing?
It is confusing me. The axis system indicates there is storage outside the system that is taking up space. The only data on the drive is the Axis video recordings. The Axis system is set to delete old recordings after 15 days. There are recordings back to March still on the share. It appears that old recordings are not being deleted. If this was the totally the case then the drive would quickly fill up and remain full but the system keeps recording which indicates that something must be being deleted somewhere. Hence my confusion.
I changed the settings as you indicated.
- I have created a user via ReadyNas with the same user name (J-PC) and password from the windows 7 PC that has the Axis recording service running.
- I created a group "Axis" and assigned this to be the primary group of the user (J-PC)
- I went to the settings for the share. SMB is the only protocol I have enabled.
- Under Network Access I have: Everyone: RO; admin R/W; Axis: R/W; users: no setting; J-PC: R/W; Allow anonymous access checked.
- Under File Access: File Owner: J-PC; Folder Group: Axis; Everyone: no setting; Folder Owner: R/W; Folder Group: R/W; Axis: R/W; users: RO; guest: RO; J-PC: R/W;
When I uncheck Allow anonymous access I get a message from Axis Camera Station saying Access to disk has been denied.
Have I setup the user correctly? What am I missing? Do I need to let it run for a while to see if the new settings have changed something? I would like to remove anonymous access.

I would start by allowing R/W access to admin, everyone, users, Axis, and J-PC and unticking allow anonymous access. Does that work?
As part of figuring this out, what happens if you make the windows user the same as your readynas admin credentials ie admin/password?

I think your settings is fine. Adding admin group won't really work as there is only one admin account the NAS will allow and that is just the username "admin", the admin account can access all shares including the private ones while other user accounts can be configured as read only and ready-write permissions. Not sure what else you want the other user you are trying to set as admin to be able to do.
As for old recordings filling up the space of the share, maybe check if you have Snapshots enabled. Try disabling or deleting the ones you do not need. Click here for how to's.
Unticking the Allow Anonymous while J-PC has read-write and Everyone has read-only will also stop your camera from talking to the NAS because this means you are restricting the share from anyone who has not entered a username before being able to access the share. Everyone on the share permission means all user accounts you added to the admin page. The NAS treats the camera as anonymous because the camera talks to the NAS without any username entered.

JennC that doesn't make sense, the OP has a software application running on the PC that is being denied access. I have many applications on my PC that can write to, read from and delete files from my nas while they are running under a particular PC user account. As long as the PC account credentials are recognised by the nas all these applications can read, write and delete without a problem and without anonymous access enabled.
