See Sandshark's How-I-got-apt-update-and-install-to-work-with-Debian-Jessie . In addition, Netgear screwed up their repository for OS6.10.8, and that (but not what is discussed in the link above) is fixed in 6.10.9.

My own approach is to run Plex on an always-on PC. Media is on the NAS, and mapped to a drive letter on the PC.
Though more expensive, you get better performance from Plex (assuming a reasonably new PC). Separating applications from storage also makes it easier to upgrade either the application server or the NAS later on (or switch vendors).
FWIW, even if you get past the install problem now, it is IMO likely that at some point in the future Plex will stop working with Debian Jessie.
