Yep, I'm getting similar problems.
Disk 2 was the first to go when I got the NAS but since then it's been disk 1 - so all the new disks just failing over and over. Usually I get some ATA errors first. Just last week I put in a new drive.. all was well after resync. Then a scrubbing and it was still ok. But next day, 40 ATA errors.
