LMS for OS6
A LMS (Logitech Media Server) add-on for OS6 would be great.
I am thinking about upgrading to the new OS but need LMS (even if its obsolete).
Anyone got it running from source?

- Hi,
Thanks for creating LMS GUI for ReadyNAS OS 6.
I have problem, I can't play any of my local music files, all players get same error: Can't open file for: [song title]
All files are in Apple Lossless format.
In server side there is no errors in logs.
I have couple of files in mp3 format and those work fine.
I have tested both 7.7.2 and 7.8.0 versions.
Any idea what could be wrong? - super_poussinVirtuosoWhois is the owner of the files ?
And what are the rights ? - User rights are ok, everyone has read access to all music files.
All music files has idendical rights, mp3 files work fine but apple lossless don't.
I even tried: su - squeezeboxserver and then tried to access those files and those are accessble.
One odd thing, with version 7.7.2 all three Radio, Duet and Transporter give same error.
But 7.8.0 Radio plays those files, but Duet and Transporter don't. - I made test and converted some music files to flac format, those are working fine.
Made Test directory and copied both m4a and flac files to there with identical file rights and owners.
Added Test directory to LMS Media Folder
Rescan changes
Try to play files from that Test media directrory.
Flac files play fine but ma4 don't. - vandermerweMasterjukkaforss, have these files been played using a different installation of lms. You could trying installing lms on your desktop
and seeing whether the files play or not.
Also have you reinstalled firmware on the squeezeboxes? - Hi,
I migrated my data from old Ultra 4 to new RD314.
I just upgraded old Ultra to use same LMS version and every device works correct.

Also I reinstalled Duet firmware and it didn't help. - Now I know what difference is between Radio and Trasnporter or Duet.
Radio can play Apple lossless native, but Transporter and Dut don't.

LMS tries to use i386 version of faad and sox located in /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Bin/i386-linux/ -directory and ReadyNAS OS 6 can run only 64bit binaries.
If I install faad and sox and copy 64-bit binaries to /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Bin/i386-linux/ -directory, it still don't work probably those LMS binaries are modified !!
Any idea how to get around this problem? - vandermerweMasterLMS is listed in the Available Apps section of OS6.
If I were to click on install here without installing the Dropbox files first, what is going to happen? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredJust two different methods to install the app. Take your pick as to which you choose to use.
- vandermerweMasterOk.
Thread seemed to suggest that manual upload was required, obviously the package has been added to the app list since that post.
