NAS for mixed PC & Mac
I'm looking for a NAS to sit on what will be a mixed PC & Mac network at home ... Be good to get confirmation that this will be OK and what if anything I need to do to ensure both PC & Mac can back u...

Yes the ReadyNAS will be great for this.
I would recommend using CIFS for your file sharing.
Use Time Machine (http://www.readynas.com/TimeMachine) for backing up the Macs.
Use an application on your Windows PCs for backing up to the ReadyNAS (e.g. QuickShadow, Acronis, Memeo etc.). If just backing up data (not the OS, applications etc.) then you could use Frontview backup to backup the Windows machines.
Which ReadyNAS model are you looking at?
