New Nas' around the corner?
Noticing the pricing on the ultra's has been creeping downward with various sales here and there. Perhaps new Nas units are on the horizon? Since they were introduced in '10, wonder how long this cu...
It depends on different factors such as (but by no means limited to):
1. Availability of parts for the current model e.g. How long will Intel sell the CPUs in the Ultras in sufficient quantities and at good prices?
2. NetGear's plans to innovate to continually improve their product offerings (they're not going to tell us this).
3. One can look back at NetGear's past release history: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=231712#p231712. The ReadyNAS Pro (6-bay) was released back in Q4 2008, about 2 years before the ReadyNAS Pro 6, the second gen.
One can only guess as to what might/might not be around the corner. If you need it, I'd buy one of the current offerings. The current products are very good. If you wait you don't know how long you'll be waiting.
