One of the reasons I went with Readynas was for the community support and this post proves that I made a good choice! As for your comments, I choice the 214 based on the specs of the arm cpu and felt that I really didn't need to spend the extra money on a x86 NAS at this point.
My use case for the device will be for Plex support, backups (mac and windows clients) and misc. other files shares all of which didn't work nearly as well on my Drobo. I did upgrade to 6.5.2 this morning and things seem to still be very stable and I am evaluating if I should take the plunge and run beta firmware on the device.
I appericate your responses and look forward to providing whatever feedback and knowledge that I have back to this thriving community!

I think you made a good choice getting the RN214. It's a great model and if at some point your needs change in the future you could get a higher end model at some point.
I love using Plex and it's my favourite app for the ReadyNAS.
