I am just setting up a new ReadyNAS 202 and am having several issues. I have set up the admin account and also set myself up as a separate account as a "User" so I can interact from my Mac as a r...

Hi dschwartzer,
Sorry for getting you confused, I meant "no it is NOT needed to create local users if you are not planning to have any permissions to the shares"

In looking on line, it says there should be a place to enter her email address since it is already in the system but the only place to enter her email is to invite her for full access but that results in an error message that her email is already in the system. How do I get her remote access as a user registered in the system?
This should no longer be an issue in the next firmware release (6.5.0) with our change to use SSO (Single Sign On) for ReadyCLOUD.

How does she actually "sign in" to the system the first time so that her private Home folder is created?
The private home folder is created the first time you login to SMB. You will see it the next time you login to SMB.

Finally (for now), I have the ReadyNAS listed on the Finder sidebar three times under the Shared section. One is for the SMB connection, one for the AFP protocol and one is just a general connection.
One is for SMB, one is for AFP and the other is for advertising SMB to Windows or if Time Machine is enabled it is for Time Machine.

Thanks for the SSO information. I'm hoping that makes things a little clearer. Perhaps I should install the 6.5 beta over the wekend to see if that makes things easier. Is the current Beta 2 version fairly stable? If I have problems, we a factory reset restore the current 6.4.2 firmware? Do you know when the 6.5 upgrade is due for public release?
Thanks for your quick response. I know that the Home folder is created on first log in but it's not clear to me how she logs in. I have turned off the Annonymous setting for all of the shared folders but it still says Annonymous on the Admin panel. If she is on the local network, (which she is), will she be prompted for her user Name and Password when she clicks on a link in the sidebar?
Are you saying the three listings in the sidebar are normal?
Thanks again for all of your help.
