You don't have a good picture to tell, but it looks to me like you do have the trays that have the screw-holes for the newer drives, just not the toolless mounts for them. Since removing and replacing a drive isn't something you need to do often, I've never understood why Netgear bothered with the tooless option.

I'm done fella's. Dropped off Netgear 6 bay diskless RN42600 at UPS about an hour ago - prepaid return shipping. Didn't even remove the twist-tie on the power cord. Amazing...
Now I've often wondered "What would the game of baseball be like without the 3 strike rule. Strike 3 - still waiting for Netgear Support to call me today regarding RMA for updated drive bays, like they said they would yesterday when they called me. Attached a pdf of NetGear Supports email - NETGEAR Support Case #29940949.

All you needed to do was to remove the plastic inserts, as it said on the page in the hardware manual I linked to. They slide completely out, and then you use the supplied screws to mount the disks to the tray bottom.

Unless I'm missing something here, page 163 of the hardware manual does show 4 drive mounting holes on the bottom of disk tray. However, these 4 bottom mounting holes but are tightly spaced apart accordinging to accomodate a smaller SSD device no? The Seagate drive is a stand full size 3.5" drive much longer and wider than a SSD. Note the small rectangle 4 screw pattern on page 163 in that link. How would you go about mounting a 3.5" drive using those holes on page 163? Plus the are no mounting holes on the bottom of the Seagate drive.
Sorry light bulb hasn't gone off yet... :)

You remove the insert, and what you'd have seen on the bottom of the tray is holes along the edges.
These are aligned with the mounting holes on the bottom of your Ironwolf drives. The NAS included a set of screws that you'd have used to mount the drives.

There are 4 mounting holes on the bottom of the Ironwolf, as shown on page 21 of Seagate's manual for the drive: https://www.seagate.com/www-content/product-content/ironwolf/en-us/docs/100818527a.pdf

Netgear told me they have redesigned a replacment item for #6 - Mounting bracket on page 163 (black plastic removable insert) - for the Seagate drives. These updated #6 - Mounting brackets have only 1 pin on each side instead of 2 pins on each side like delivered. Seagate drives have 2 holes on each side total - but at each end - not a 3rd somewhere in the middle; not 3 holes on each side like most other drives. My previous pictures I uploaded earlier of the #6 mounting bracket & side of Seagate drive show lousy detail - sorry about that.
Hope this helps...

Which is good to know, though as noted above you could have mounted it by removing the insert altogether.

Those alternative mounting holes have been used on several other drives over the past couple of years. Manufacturers need all the interior space in the center that they can get, because they want to maximize the platter diameter inside.

Light bulb has gone off. :) Thank you for pointing this out in great detail. Assuming the 4 holes on the bottom of the disk tray match up to the same 4 holes on the bottom of the Seagate drive, then I stand corrected. Drive would fit by a). Remove #6 black plastic mounting bracket. b) Install Seagate drive directly to bottom of the metal drive tray using enclosed small Phillips screws that arrived in the ReadyNAS box.
