NV+ 4.1.9 Firmware Internal Mail no longer working?

Not sure if I am posting this in the right forum, probably not, and if not, please move where appropriate.

I have determined that the internal mail for the Readynas seems to be broken. I had not been receiving alerts for a while even after a restart which led me to begin some Investigating. I went into the Alert properties, set one email and did a test (ntruhan@XXXXX masked out) then set another email for a test since the first did not come through (ntruhan@YYYY) and in doing so, I found the following in the following in the /var/log/exim/mainlog

But it seems that it is getting formatted wrong: 501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments. Then tries again and gets banned from mail.messaging.microsoft.com?

I wasn't sure if it was related to the firmware update, or the latest changes in Microsoft's mail systems, or something else, but if you change the mail system provider to something else, say the Gmail provider, which I know uses another system outside of exim, it works and sends the message which I receive and I get success logs in the /var/log/frontview/msmtp.log:

So for now, I will continue to use gmail, but if anyone else is having problems with Internal SMTP not sending emails, check the /var/log/exim/mainlog for syntax or rejection errors.
