On the load-cycle count, I have some green drives in service with ~1.5M load cycle counts that are still performing well. My NV+ has green drives with over 500K LCC counts, and they are working fine also. So in my experience these drives generally do out-last the 300K spec by a large margin. However, there are better choices for NAS, so I don't recommend them for new installations. I've chosen to retire them from my primary NAS (a pro-6).
I don't use enterprise drives myself, so I can't really recommend any. I had a run of seagate failures years ago, and have stuck with WDC for some years now with good results.
Though the WD Red drives are much better than the green drives for NAS, and are somewhere between consumer and enterprise grade. There is a 1 TB model - the WD10EFRX. I've used WDC Reds in my pro-6, my duo v1 and my RN102 with good results. They might not be on the compatibility list, but if you are out of warranty that probably doesn't matter much.
There's a new WD Red Pro line which appears to meet enterprise specs and warranty (for instance the WD2001FFSX). 2 TB is the smallest size though. There's also the RE line which is their true enterprise line, and still has a 1 TB model. I haven't used either though.
