Power Supply Replacement
I have a ReadyNAS 1100 Model RNR4450-100NAS that I bought in January 2008. It won't power on so I suspect a bad power supply. I see that Amazon.com has a replacement Seventeam ST-220FUB-05E power...

If you want to make the modification yourself (saving some money), the pin out is here: http://www.readynas.com/download/archive/pdf/ReadyNAS_PSU_pinout.pdf

Thank-you VKGH and StephenB for your replies.
After much introspection and consulting with a hardware guy (I'm mostly a software guy administering his own servers and laptops), I decided to retire the ReadyNAS (it's been unused for quite awhile -- I was looking to repurpose it recently) and save my pennies for an up-to-date replacement. I could've probably done the modifications myself but I have higher priority (and less risky) items on my To-Do list. I've popped the drives to give to my hardware guy who has the equipment to verify that they're still good to use. The remander of the system will head to an electronics recycler.
It was good while it lasted, and thanks again to those that responded,
Dave

Hi Stephen. I came across your post because I am replacing the same Seventeam ST-220FUB-05E PS, but not for the NAS. It is an OWC mac array. It is your link to pin out. I need to use the green lead for a switch but don't know what pin to use for the black (I guess ground). I can't tell from the original PS b/c the wiring is slightly different. I'm not an EE type guy. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Normally, in order to switch a PSU on in order to test it, I connect the green with any other black wire (ground) and it works. the PSU Seventeam ST-220FUB-05E PS is a standard ATX PSU but is is also widely modified and used for other systems such as Netgear ReadyNAS Boxes. This often lead to confusion.

Thanks StephenB for providing the ReadyNAS link to the ReadyNAS PS connector pinout showing the modifications required to use a standard 20pin ATX power supply! By splicing 2 pinouts to an old PC ATX power supply 20 pin connector, I got my ReadyNAS working again! As this PC ATX Power Supply is so big, I placed it ontop of my ReadyNAS drive. l simply removed two fans on the ReadyNAS casing so that there is a hole for my ATX Power Supply cord and connector to snake in! Ready, really appreciate your posting! Thanks so much!

Hi,
Which 2 pins did you splice?
