Ok, thanks again Stephen. I guess that's all the info I need. It is for home use. I have 3 backups of all my irreplaceable files...I have about 2,000 cds, so I'd want to put the music on the NAS in lossless form...if the NAS failed it would be a huge hassle but I'd still have the cds....also would store some videos on there...eventually I'd like to buy another NAS to backup my first one, but only if I could afford it....perhaps using your suggestion of buying it diskless and using the WD30EFRX drives will allow me to buy a second NAS sooner than later... ok now that I think about it, since a pre-built one is about twice the cost, it actually makes more sense to buy 2 diskless ones with a few extra hard drives, so I would likely have the equivalent reliability of a pre-built one along with a backup...I would only need to turn the second one on once in awhile so the power use would be about the same.
