thank you, its a NV+1.. 2 questions, how do I re-boot and if I do, will I delete all data that is saved on it?

An OS re-install installs the OS over the top of itself, resets the admin password and some network settings. The data is left intact.
A factory default on the other hand wipes all data, settings, everything.
You could follow the instructions in the Hardware Manual for the Duo/NV+ v1.
You press and hold the reset button
Turn the NAS on
Keep holding the reset button
Release the reset button after about 5 seconds (the disk LEDs will blink once)
You should see that it is doing an OS re-install indicated on the display of the NAS
If you somehow "accidentally" held the reset button in for about 30 seconds (I don't see how it is possible to hold it in that long by mistake) you would have 10 minutes to power down the NAS anyway you can to abort the factory default before it wipes the disks.
