RAM for RNDP6310-100NAS?
I've seen various confirmations that the RNDP6000-200 can get a 2x4 RAM upgrade - especially some Patriot RAM. I have an RNDP6310-100... and my impression is that this means my NAS is 1st gen ......
You would look at the stock RAM module that you have to see what the layout is. It should be much the same between all of those, but which module we used would depend on what was available to us at the time. 8GB (2x4GB) is the max for your system.

Ah, I didn't realise you were using a 3rd party OS. The add-on is for installing on the stock OS. If you can run flashrom on your 3rd party OS then it may be possible to flash the BIOS using that, but we haven't tested that so it wuld be quite risky.
You could try the RAM without bothering to do a BIOS update and see how you get on, though it would probably be more likely to work with the newer BIOS.

Has anyone documented what the stock RAM layout is? Is the RNDP6310-100 going to use the same RAM layout as the RNDP6310-200 and RNDP6000?
As for BIOS, I remember searching a few months back and finding a thread from the old forums that kept saying to download the latest BIOS at such-and-such link, but because of how the forums had been switched, that link was dead. I'll look again. But I also recall seeing that you had to have the stock OS on the box to do an update. That might be a problem... since my box runs FreeNAS. Which is why I need 8gb of RAM (minimum).
