Readynad duo v2 root danneggiata e disk failure

I mark this discussion as resolved because while waiting for the SATA/USB adapter I tried to install the new disks and the NAS does nothing, it is not possible to access the web interface, I tried to perform the reset, but nothing has changed, so the NAS is dead and I just have to recover the data as you described with Linux, so this discussion is to be considered closed, or resolved, I thank everyone for the time you have dedicated to me, I thank you and I wish you many beautiful things, not only in this world where however you are very good and competent, thanks again for everything, "Ciao", Marco from Padua, Italy.

The Duo V1
- says ReadyNAS Duo on the front panel
- runs 4.1.x firmware
The Duo v2
- says ReadyNAS Duo v2 on the front panel
- runs 5.3.x firmware.

Start by removing the Red Plus, and see if you can boot the system with only the old (working) drive installed. You can leave it in its original slot.
If the system boots ok (showing a degraded volume), then you should immediately make a backup of the data on the NAS.
If the system does NOT boot, then you could try installing R-Linux for Windows on a PC (Freeware), and connect the old working disk to the PC using either SATA or a USB adapter/dock. If R-Linux finds your files, then use it to copy off your data.
Make sure you click "for windows" at the top right of the download page:

Were you able to access it before the disk failed???
