ReadyNAS 102 performance with bit rot protection

What is the expected performance hit for bit rot protection? I want to werify my numbers. I have tested it with a 53.7 GB set of large (700 MB CD images) and these are my results:   PC->NAS    995 ...

    The 102 is a cost effective storage solution so the performance hit is likely to be more noticeable than with other models.


    Particularly if you have made in place modifications to files read performance could be quite slow as the file becomes more and more fragmented over time.

    Bit-rot protection is enabled per share. With checksums enabled I believe you would be notified if a checksum doesn't match, but there would be no way to fix it unless bit-rot protection was already enabled.
