ReadyNAS 104 Lost Array After Upgrade To 6.4.0- Any Way To Recover?

I have a ReadyNAS 104 with 2 WD Red 3TB drives. I am using the factory recommended X-RAID setup. After the reboot in upgrading to OS 6.4.0 the system reports an inactive volume on disks 1&2. Is there an easy way or any way to recover the volume or data from the volume.

I bought into the sales pitch that you did not need to be an IT specalist to us this NAS in a home network. I am an engineer, so replys may be technical, just don't assume IT or SW dev experience.

I think your issue is one of several bad outcomes from the 6.4 upgrade.

I'd contact support, and make it clear that since it is upgrade-related there should be no charge.

Makes you wonder if they even beta tested this version of the firmware?! I have been waiting for days for it to complete the upgrade. Once done, beware rebooting the NAS as it seems to continue an upgrade making it pretty much unaccessable durign the process.

kpurcell, this firmware did undergo a beta test.

Determining what caused Sgt_Torpedo's problem would require some diagnosis.

  • Mdgm,
Would I be elegible for no charge tech support on this issue? My 6 month free support period has expired.
