ReadyNAS 212 slow to respond
After some time and I have not narrowed this down yet my ReadyNAS is slow to respond from the network and the UI page itself. I am using PLEX on it serving up music and storage or files. I notice ...
It sounds like you have already tried some things, it would be helpful to know what those are.
There are a lot of possibilities. One is that you are actually connected at a slower rate than 1GB. Do the indicators on the router/switch show a 1GB connection? Have you tried both NAS Ethernet ports, a new cable, and another port on your router/switch?
What model drives are installed? If they are SMR, that will slow things down, Probably not quite in the way you are observing, but good to know in diagnosing.
Do you have SSH enabled? If so, does top show any processes taking up an inordinate amount of CPU time?
Do you have drive spin-down enabled? If so, have you tried turning it off to see if that helps?

The only thing I have done is restart when I see the issue.

My setup is I have a TPlink mesh wifi . Ethernet cable comes out of the wifi into a GB switch.
The 2 ports on the Ready NAS are ethernet cabled into the switch.
I don't know how to test the connection rate or know how to test the speed at the wifi device.

Both ethernet ports are used in a round robin setting.
I haven't tried different cables or anything else. I have never seen cables if they are bad all of a sudden slow down after time. But if you feel it is necessary I can change them out.
I'll change some ports on the switch to see if anything changes. It is not a managed switch.

SSH no. How do you run top on the NAS

No. I don't know where the spin-down setting is at.

Also, I suggest downloading the full log zip file from the logs page, as there could be some clues in there. You'll likely find it hard to interpret, but you can share it with me (via private message) later on if need be.

It sounds like you have link aggregation set up. If you have an unmanaged switch, then you shouldn't be using that. Try disconnecting one of the cables and see if that makes any difference.

i have the log zip file if you want it.
I will disconnect one of the cables.
It might take a few days to find out if it acts up.
I will post here my results as soon as something changes.
