ReadyNAS 212 "The ReadyNAS is currently syncing...". Terrible Performance
I just setup a ReadyNAS 212. I managed to lock myself out of the Admin password and did a Factory Restore.
I tried to copy a few large files to the drive...that's the reason I bought the unit. My Mac is telling me it's going to take 41 days to complete the copy of 200GB worth of data.
A message on the ReadyNAS Admin page is telling me "The ReadyNAS is currently syncing. During this process, the system is still accessible; however, performance and Admin Page responsiveness might be impacted".
What is the unit doing? It looks like it's going to take about 24 hours to finish this sync. I hope when it's done, my copy speeds up. I obviously can't use this drive if it takes 41 days to copy 200 GB.
Any input would be appreciated.

An OS reinstall would have have reset the IP configuration and reset the admin password, but would have preserved the data. You appear to have done a factory reset, which does a fresh install and destroys your data.
The RAID array is being rebuilt - every sector of the main disk is being mirrored to the other (including free space). Once complete, your original speeds will return.
Generally the total time is faster if you hold off on the copy until the resync is complete.
