Readynas 2304 boot from HDD

The internal flash is only 128MB or 256MB depending on the model. You can use a syslinux or grub bootloader on the internal flash to chainload onto a hdd i.e. you boot off the internal flash and the bootloader on that switches to booting off a disk.

You could configure the internal flash to chainload onto the HDD using syslinux or possibly grub.

Just a doubt... ReadyNas 2304 load a full debian 8 and declares 4G flash, without any HDD.
Is that the same flash are you referring?

I never had a 2304, so that could be right. The internal flash will have the syslinux bootloader on it.
You could change the normal option in syslinux.cfg to chainload onto the hdd.
