ReadyNAS 314 1st Use - Sync & Reshape Data
Hoping someone who knows the ReadyNAS setup can offer some info...
I have a new ReadyNAS314, which I fitted with 2 x 4TB WD RED NAS drives. Once powered up, ReadyNAS stated approx. 7hrs to sync data. It actually took 12hrs+, but no big deal, wasn't in any mad rush.
Now, 2 days later, I have just fitted another 2 x 4TB WD RED NAS drives - the ReadyNAS now tells me it will be 49hrs+ to resync data.
Can this really be correct, that it is going to take over 2 days to prep 2 new disks....? System has not been used yet, no data added, so if I have missed something in the setup or the config is incorrect, it is not a problem to start again.
Thanks in advance....
JB

It will resync the two new drives one at a time. For each resync it needs to either read or write every sector on all the disks (not just the new one).
It would be faster to do another factory reset with all the disks in place.
