ReadyNAS 314 can't get updates
Firmware version 6.10.10
I have found a number of posts with this problem, but haven't found a solution for my problem.
When I check for updates, I get this message:
Cannot resolve host name. Communication error. Check your Internet connectioin, DNS Settings, or proxy settings.
I know that it is able to access the Internet as every night I receive an email message sent via Yahoo.com, Subject: ReadyNAS Alert Message (nas-02 System: Error)
Content: Antivirus scanner definition file update failed due to download failure. Check your Internet connection.
Following the solution to other similar problem, I rebooted my modem and router, then the ReadyNAS. I received messages when I rebooted.
But the problem continues.
I hope someone has a solution!

Netgear took down their update server -- you are on the final firmware for the EOL ReadyNAS line. Updates for the antivirus version Netgear used are also no longer available, which is why you get those emails.
I am having the same issue... it's not a FW issue as I am running 6.10.8 (can't remember why i did not upgrade i believe FW above this removes important features I wanted) i think it's a backend Netgear thing
