I'd probably just do the factory default.
You could also try just reinserting one disk (in its original slot) and booting up.
- If that works, see if the data is there. If it is, hot-insert the second disk and wait for the resync.
- If not, power down and try the other disk (by itself).
If both fail, just move on to the factory default.

Hello StephenB, thanks for responding.
Putty could not connect to my Duo, so I figured that next step should be testing the disks using WD diagnostics tool. I have used it before so no problem, but it does take some hours per disk. Follow-up tomorrow.

Followed your advice, and first disk works in the Duo.
Inserted second disk, and resync hang again.
I will use WD diagnostic to erase the second disk and see what happens when it's put back in the Duo.
