Jul 15, 2020ReadyNas Duo V2 locksup
Hi Fellow members I think my ReadyNas Duo V2 that has been a trusted servent over the last few years is starting to give up, even with the purchase of some new hard drives :-( For a while now I ...

Do you even get a response to a ping? Is there any activity of the NIC LEDs?
One possibility is a failing power supply. Are you certain the device is a V2 (says so on the front, external power brick, runs OS 5.x)? That makes a difference in troubleshooting steps. It may sound like a strange question, but Netgear used the designation "V2" in two different ways, and many who think they have a V2 really have a V1. Far more V1's were sold than V2's.

Jul 16, 2020Thanks for the responses.
Yes I can confirm its a V2 as it says on the front, ReadyNas Duo v2. It also has an external power block.
Forgot to mention when I ping the device, I do get a respose and this is consistent with no drop offs.
In terms of firmware it runs the RAIDiator 5.3.13 which is the latest version for this model.
I will also download the logs, thanks again for the input, much appreciated.

Would it be ok if I was able to send the logs over for further investigation please?

Many Thanks

I have just uploaded the logs to you Marc_V in a private message.
Some things for you to note.
I took this log yesterday morning around 8am GMT. It had locked up again so had to forcefully pull the plug so to speak and power back on again.
You probably notice on the logs that it reports of disk failures however I think this is because I have had no choice but to pull the log and once the server comes back online I believe it reports that there could be a a possible disk or impeding failre on a disk but I dont believe that is the issue because both of the drives were purchased about 3 years ago with very light use, the ReadyNas has been on all that time so in terms of hours that will be high which is expected.
Happy to provide any further information if you require it.
Thanks again.

Disks can fail at any time, so you might be in denial on this.
What disk errors are you seeing? Can you post a couple of them in a reply?
