Now I'm aware of the problems in using EFAX red nas series, however, this is not a big problem if I span data, since there is no SYNC between disks, as it is in RAID1.

We'll see.  The issue can show up whenever you do enough sustained writes to the volume.

I came along someone refering that intend to ask near the engineering dep to include some kind of routine inside software to unlock hard disks locked by NETGEAR nas devices, however, in no other place looks to be implemented.

It is possible to unlock them in a Windows PC or linux system with hdparm (connecting them with a USB adapter/dock or SATA).

The disks can be unlocked using hdparm with

    # hdparm --security-unlock NETGEAR /dev/sda
    # hdparm --security-disable NETGEAR /dev/sda

/dev/sda would be the first drive in a duo v2 - the actual device path depends on the PC/Linux system to which you connect the drive.

OS 6 NAS don't include the secure erase feature.
