ReadyNAS not allowing IP Camera to record too
I have a ReadyNAS 104 system and a Edimax 720P IP Camera (model IC-9110W) that connects to my old NAS Box (D-Link) which connects via IP then to a specific folder.
So for example it goes to 192.168.1.252\Volume_1\IP_Camera and everything is perfectly fine with the D-Link NAS Box however when I connect the IP Camera to ReadyNAS Box example 192.168.1.252\IPCamera\IPCamera1 the ReadyNAS box absolutely fails to allow data to be written.
I have created the folder then sub folder for per camera however each and every time the folder is setup for all to Read/Write the NAS will not allow data to be written on the fly.
I want to use the ReadyNAS as it has over 7TB of data to use and the D-Link Box only has 2TB and no backup incase of HD Failure.
What is going on and what is a fix? Also note that the "Survallance Application" on the ReadyNAS is no good either because it doesn't allow a lot of input for the IP Camera which uses .sdp over RTSP which ReadyNAS only supports for "Generic" cameras that are not in the supported list.
I hope this doesn't confuse you and it explains what I mean lol.
Many thanks

Are you using anonymous access in the camera NAS storage settings?
If so, then I suggest changing that over to use NAS local account credentials. You might want to set up an "Edimax" user on the NAS for this.
Also, is "IPCamera" a share on the NAS?
- GamingNerdAspirantHi Stephen,
The IP Camera has been setup with its own login to the NAS for login so it is using User Credentials to login to the NAS no anonymous login.
There is a Share on the ReadyNAS for this very purpose and when testing the connection settings in the IP Cam it connects and stays connected however using Manual Snapshot (Picture) or Manual Record it says successfull for Pic but nothing shows on NAS and when Manual Record is pressed it counts down then shows Started however 1 second later it stops recording.
I am looking at moving to UniFi Cameras however the limited to virtually outdated support for cameras on ReadyNAS on the Survallance Application is just rubbish however I still am wanting to be able to record to the NAS Box Live not just as a backup source however this has made it extremely difficult and very annoying.- StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Perhaps a long shot, but is disk spindown enabled on the NAS?
